Empties- Products I've Used Up

I always seem to run out of everything at the same time, so I thought it would make for an interesting post. A few of these products are my staples, but there are a few I wasn't too keen on...

Benefit Hello Flawless Powder: I picked this one up after seeing Alexandrea Garza using it in most of her videos to set her foundation. I went for a yellow toned shade to brighten and highlight underneath my eyes, on the bridge of my nose, chin and forehead. It's such a creamy powder and has a really nice velvety finish and does have a very good coverage. The only thing I'd say is that you get very little product for the price (£25.50!!) and it does run out super quick. Even though I liked this powder, it's no match to my Rimmel Stay Matte!
The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensively Revitalising Gel Cream*: This one I will 100% re-purchase. I can really tell a difference in my skin since using this moisturiser and I never knew how much oils can benefit your skin, even on an oily complexion, until I started using this. It contains 3 precious seed oils that really replenish and revitalise the skin, it's fantastic. If you're looking for a light weight daily moisturiser then I highly recommend this product.
NARS Laguna Bronzer: I have gone through about 3 of these already and always get a new one each Christmas from my Mum. It's the perfect colour for light to medium skin tones and adds a lovely natural glow without too much shimmer. I don't think I really need to say much about this product as its such a cult favourite. All I can say is if you haven't already tried it, you're missing out.
MAC Lipstick in Patisserie: This was my second tube of this lipstick, it's a brilliant 'your lips but better' kind of colour that it so easy to throw on, and instantly brings a look together. It's subtle enough that you can wear it with hardly any makeup, but still one that looks lovely with a more put together look. I bought this after reading about it on Anna's blog and I highly recommend trying it.
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer: The best concealer I have used. I absolutely love it and I'm already on to my 3rd bottle. Enough said. Try it. Please.
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer: This is another cult favourite in the online beauty community, it's a lovely cheap alternative if you haven't got much to spend. I love the sponge tip that makes application so easy and it's brilliant product for brightening underneath the eyes.
The Body Shop Moisture Foundation*: I wear this foundation in shade 7 when I have fake tan on as it's such a brilliant tone and matches the tan perfectly. I never see anything about this online but it's honestly such a lovely foundation with great coverage, I'd say the coverage is medium buildable and the finish is definitely on the dewy side. It wears really well on the skin on top of Instablur, also by The Body Shop, and can last me all day with no touch ups. I'd really recommend trying this foundation if you're looking to try something new, I already have 2 back ups. It's definitely a staple that I always have to have in my collection.
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline: I've finally mastered the winged liner for my eye shape, and I've been wearing it non stop. This gel liner is my favourite as it's so creamy, pigmented and smudge proof. It took me so long to use up this pot and it doesn't dry out, so it's well worth the money to me. As always, MAC doesn't disappoint!
Rimmel Stay Matte Primer: I picked up this product on a whim as the third product in a 3 for 2 as I'd ran out of my Instablur by The Body Shop. It's ok... But not great. It definitely mattifies my skin, but that's about all it does. I need something that mattifies, keeps my makeup on all day and fills my pores. Back to the trusty Instablur!

Which products are your trusty staples and which ones are you not so keen on?

*disclamer: I work for The Body Shop but all my opinions on their products are 100% my own, I just happen to love the products. I haven't been paid to talk about anything.

One of my weaknesses in life is MAC, and MAC lipsticks in particular. I've collected these over a few years and my collection is ever growing. I find myself googling MAC lipstick collection posts or videos when I'm on the lookout for a certain shade, or wanting inspiration for which one to get next. So I hope whoever is reading this finds this post just as useful.
Before I jump into it I thought I'd include the descriptions of the different textures/finishes/formula's that MAC have to offer;
Matte- very opaque and flat, can be drying, tends to stay on the lips the longest, very heavily pigmented so can stain lips.
Satin- semi matte, not a lot of shine, still quite a flat colour, very long wearing and won't be too drying. (my favourite formulation!!)
Cremesheen- glossy and opaque, long wearing, very creamy and quite thick, most popular formulation.
Lustre- very lightweight, easy to wear, very glossy, can only get a few hours wear, can come off when drinking/eating.
Amplified Creme- has all the pigmentation of a matte but not as drying, applies very easily and is very creamy, very opaque and lasts a long time.
Glaze- very sheer, more like a lip gloss, doesn't last as long, very moisturising.
Frost- can contain quite a lot of glitter, shimmer or sheen, similar consistency to lustre.
Retro Matte- the mattest of the mattes! Same as matte but very very drying and very flat, not creamy at all and stains the lips like a b***h!

Now grab yourself a cup of tea because this one is going to be a long one!
My favourite lipsticks will be marked with a *.

I've just noticed that I haven't photographed my all time favourite MAC lipstick which is Whirl, it must be somewhere in a handbag, how did I forget about it?! It's matte and described as a dirty rose. How annoying! I knew that I'd filled up that acrylic holder...
As you can see I have quite a few favourites and quite a few lipsticks, I'm really into the more nude brownish colours at the moment and have many lipsticks from other brands that I'm really enjoying as well, so I may do another post soon RE fav lippys.

Let me know your favourite MAC lipstick and if you think I'm missing a gooden or two!

Lush Haul, Lush Boxing Day Sale, Lush Sale Haul, Dashing Santa, Yog Nog, Luxury Lush Pud, Golden Wonder, Twilight, Bath Bomb

I love a good Lush Haul. There's something about having a 'Lush bath' that really makes me happy... it's the little things. I rushed to my local store and managed to pick up a few of the amazing Christmas delights that the Lush Fairies bring us once a year. I'm sure the reason everyone goes Lush mad on boxing day is because it's the only sale you get, none of this 4 times a year stuff that other brands treat us to. I was pretty lucky with my stash as I went in a good few weeks after for my second trip... (don't judge) and there was still lots left!
So, here's the lowdown;
Dashing Santa Bath Bomb- This one is such a lovely idea, as it 'dashes' around the bath fizzing away and letting off the scent of clementines with orange flower, mandarin oil and bergamot oil. This turns the bath a lovely bright red, super festive. To me, the scent is definitely not straight up orange, you can really smell the mix of bergamot in there too.
Yog Nog Bath Bomb- To me this one is spicy and sweet at the same time, it's the one I can smell when I have them all in a bowl together. It defiantly has a strong clove/toffee kind of smell, and I've got to say it's one of my favourite scents. It turns the bath florescent yellow with gold shimmer. Inside the bomb it has a hidden bath melt, rich in organic shea butter which really makes the bath creamy.
Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb- If you're wanting a disco in your bath then this one is the one for you! As soon as you pop it in, the coloured spots dissolve and turn the water pink, blue, green and orange. It's a real awe to watch. This one has a strong lavender scent and I absolutely love having a bath with it right before I snuggle into bed, as it's so comforting and relaxing. I did end up buying 4 of these as it was one of the only ones that was left when I went on my first Lush trip, and I'm so glad I did. I'm a massive lavender fan!
Golden Wonder Bath Bomb- Probably one of the most iconic Christmas bath bombs from lush. It smells amazing and makes your skin feel amazing. With cognac, lime and orange this is such an awakening, uplifting bomb that really smells like sweets and all things yummy!  It's also one of the shimmery ones that again leaves a golden glow floating throughout the water.
Twilight Bath Bomb- Lastly I picked up Twilight which wasn't in the sale but I couldn't resist as it's one of my favourites. This one again, has a soothing lavender herbal scent that turns the bath different colours from pink to purple and then to a deep blue like the nights sky. It really is magical and so relaxing. Turn off the lights, light a few candles and lay back. Perfect!

Did you manage to grab yourself a bargain in the Lush Sale?
What's your favourite Christmas Lush product, and product of all time?

Disneyland Blues

For my 21st birthday in August of 2015 my boyfriend and I made the short trip under the sea ;) to Disneyland Paris. As this was my first time visiting a Disney Park I didn't know what to expect other than I was going to have the time of my life and cry happy tears as soon as I got there... I did both things. No matter how many times people tell you that it is that Happiest Place On Earth, you don't realise how much of a heartwarming, magical place it is until you get there. I can't even describe the feeling that I got when I first walked onto Main Street and saw the castle, it's breathtakingly amazing!
So, if you can't already tell... I'm a little bit of a Disney lover. Understatement of the century. I've been dying to go to Disneyland ever since I can remember, and what better time to go than your 21st Birthday!
We travelled by Eurostar from St Pancras to Lille and then from Lille to Marne-La-Vallée i.e DISNEY! If you're struggling on planning your trip I would highly recommend the Eurostar, it's so quick and easy, you don't even have to think twice about it. We left a 6am and by lunchtime we were enjoying the park. As soon as we arrived at the train station we went across to the Disney Express and checked in, exchanged our luggage for park tickets and walked straight into the park. It's that simple. We spent the day in the park and then went back to the hotel; we stayed at the Cheyenne and it was lovely, it's a ranch/cowboy theme and the bedroom interior is fantastically done.
I made sure I researched the park, restaurants, hotels, rides, meet and greets etc thoroughly before I went, to make sure we got the most out of our trip and I would defiantly say to do so if you're making a trip over there too. There is SO much helpful information out there about Disneyland Paris and I'll link some that helped me at the end of the post.
If anyone would like a more in depth post about my experience in Disneyland with things such as hotel, cost, rides, meet and greets, ANYTHING please let me know as I'd love to do one, or just leave me a comment below!

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

The Naked hype is never something I could get my head around, especially with there now being so many palettes to chose from. I initially bought the Naked One palette when it first launched and loved it, although I did stray away from it and revert back to using my custom MAC palette (I just can't get enough.) I held off with the Naked 2 and 3, telling myself I already had shades too similar in my collection already and carried on as usual using my trusty MAC and occasionally dabbling into the original Naked palette... especially Half Baked, I LOVE that shade.
Then came along the Naked Smoky. Uh oh. The reason this one jumped out at me was because of the darker more vampy shades. Now, even though I don't wear those kind of colours on an every day basis, when the time comes to do a smoky eye, that's when I struggle. I'm such a neutral eyeshadow type of girl that 90% of my eyeshadow collection is golds, browns and champagne colours, so I'm loving the idea of a palette that has both!

Urban Decay really did think of it all when building this palette, with a range of matte, shimmer and full on glitter finishes with both cool and warm shades. The packaging is a step up as well and I'm loving the vampy 'smoky' effect on the lid that carries on throughout the palette. Classically, there is a massive mirror inside and of course it comes with a brush, as do all he smoky palettes. Urban Decay brushes aren't my favourite but with one included it makes you feel like you've got your money's worth, as these don't come cheap.

The first four shades are your straight up glitter shades, the next four being a satin shimmer finish and the last four being satin matte;

From left to right (taken from the Urban Decay website;
High- cream shimmer with micro-glitter
Dirtysweet- medium bronze
Radar- metallic taupe with iridescent micro-glitter
Armour- metallic silver-taupe with tonal sparkle
Slanted- light metallic grey
Dagger- medium charcoal with micro-shimmer
Black Market- jet black satin
Smolder- deep plum-taupe
Password- cool taupe matte
Whisley- rich brown matte
Combust- soft pink taupe
Thirteen- light beige satin

The pigmentation of the shadows in general is lovely, as are all Urban Decay eyeshadows, but I was a little disappointed in the lack of pigmentation in the matte shades. As you can see in the photo above, the last 4 shades are the matte ones and are a quite transparent, which is a real down fall. Other than that, the colours are all wearable and there's not one that I wouldn't be able to create a look with. So if you're an avid smoky eye wearer or want to branch out like I do, this one is worth checking out.

I've linked some of my favourite tutorials using the palette below;

I think I might do a post on my custom MAC palettes soon so please comment below if you'd like to see that!
